Literacy USA Member Meeting Scheduled for October 20-21, in Pittsburgh, PA
Thanks to the support of Literacy USA's members and our corporate advisory board, the board of directors of Literacy USA is pleased to announce that we have scheduled a member meeting this October 20-21 in Pittsburgh, PA, co-hosted by the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. Invitations and registration information will be sent to Literacy USA member organizations in mid-August. The meeting will include professional development and networking opportunities for literacy coalition leaders, as well as an opportunity to provide input on the future direction of Literacy USA. Your feedback will help ensure that we have a successful meeting. Please click here to let us know if you are interested in attending, and to fill out a brief survey on potential workshop topics.

Organization Update
New contact information and work plan going forward
Literacy USA has contracted with D.C. LEARNs, a Literacy USA member, to manage Literacy USA project work through October 31, 2008, including our October membership meeting; the completion of Literacy USA's Coalition Evaluation System Manual (the final draft is currently being reviewed by three coalition leaders; the final product is scheduled to be released in early September); the re-launch of Literacy USA's Web site and email discussion list; and to serve as the physical headquarters for the organization on a temporary basis.
